Sons of Medusa Dreadnought

Click for Full Size

He's done! I'm happy with how he came out. A bit more weathered than Perseus, but right on par with other armor in the army, he fits in nicely. Not sure what point value having him finished puts me at, but I am looking forward to fielding this army again more and more.

Sons of Medusa Dreadnought WIP

My latest project is another addition to the boys in Green. Did most of what you see on him this past Sunday. Airbrush made my base colors far easier to get down, and as of now, he's about halfway finished. Still a lot of detail work and weathering to go, but he's already fitting in nicely with his big brother Perseus!

Expect more progress soon!

Sons of Medusa Attack Bike

The recon forces of my Sons of Medusa gain another member today! This time in the form of an Attack Bike. Really happy with this one, it's not a super clean paint job, but it was fun and I actually enjoyed painting it. Check out the pic below for a bit more detail.

Pod Progress and Something New

Just a bit of a 'progress report' for the Drop Pods Commission today. I've assembled another and was able to get both primed. One more to assemble tomorrow and while that's drying, I'll likely start painting the first Drop Pod to set the scheme.

And a little something extra: Space Marine Attack Bike!

This was going to be a second try for an entry for the Dakka Painting Challenge, but I ended up being sidetracked once I had it primed. But it is still on track for some paint. You might be asking, 'How is he going to paint it?', and to you I give only this hint.

Can't wait to break my paints out tomorrow.

Badab War: Gorgon Veteran Squad

They are done! I have finally finished painting my Gorgon Vets. After all these months, it's about time too. Again these are just some quick cell phone pics with the ol' Blackberry, and future pictures are sure to come, but for now they'll do.

I wanted to carry over some more of the metal work from the other guys in the army. It really transferred over quite nicely. I think I migght even go back and rework the Sergeant with some of the same if it strikes me he needs it.

I know the barrel needs drilled out on the Melta there! So don't yell! I'll be taking care of that tonight! I was just too eager to share the completion of the squad!

Of course future wargear options will be added in the form of different models but for now this gets me a playable unit for the force.

Anyone at BoLSCon this weekend will get a chance to see these guys in person! Along with the rest of the force!

Sons of Medusa - Progress

I have finally finished painting the last few Tacticals for my Sons. It's been a long time coming and I'm so glad to have a core of troops. It's really been a labor getting them done. Future additions will be thrown in the mix for wargear variation but for now, I'm happy. To show my happiness I've taken an army progress shot on the ol' cellphone.

I am really proud of what I've done so far with this project. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel finally, and I really look forward to seeing the project finished. Only 2 Desert Marines, a Dread, and 5 Termies to go before I can play a Painted 1500 force.

The last Marine finished you can see in the above to the left with the first Marine from the army just behind him. The sergeant is a piece I haven't taken photos of yet either and still need to get better pictures of. He was a fun piece both to build and to paint, with bionics in both his face and arm. I hope to do a full army profile in the future that will take up space all around the web.

Stay tuned for some more progress.

Desert Support Razorback - Complete!

Well, it's finally done! It took much longer to get to this point than I ever expected it to, but that's mostly thanks to finishing up some school and work things. Take a gander at the finished product:

With this one I went full on with the weathering again. It makes even more sense for this piece as I envision it as the Recon element for the main force. Making initial contact and falling back to the line as the rest of the troops advance. It's really nice to have another piece in the desert scheme for my Sons of Medusa. I don't know that I'll do many more units, if any at all, in this scheme once the Gorgon Marines are finished, but if I did it would only be used on other recon type elements.

Used the Tamiya weathering master soot around the exhaust ports and the Weathering Master Sand as an overall dusting. Streak marks are just Gryphonne Sepia in multiple thin coats. Lots of washes of regular color as well as GW washes.

Any Questions I'd be happy to answer, and if you see something you'd like a tutorial on, let me know!

WIP Sons of Medusa Desert Razorback

After some prodding over on Dakka, I decided it was high time I got around to utilizing the Sons of Medusa's alternate Desert Support color scheme on something other than just the Marines in the Desert Support Squad. And while the original idea was for me to do a landspeeder, I have no real plans for one in my army, and went with painting a Razorback as a recon vehicle!

Photo taken on my Blackberry

There was a little voice of concern in the back of my head that it wouldn't work out well at this scale, but so far, I'm really happy with the direction it's going. This will get the full weathering treatment ( as seen on my Land Raider ) from here once all of the details are painted. The paint chipping has already been added in this photo. Still a good amount of work to do. Stay tuned for finished pics!
